Disney World is The Most Magical Place on Earth, but sometimes things still go wrong there. That’s just reality.
That means you’ll often find some of your favorite rides closed. Now, those closures might be something planned in advance (usually for ride maintenance) or those closures can happen due to weather. However, sometimes rides temporarily close because of other issues, but the good news is that they generally reopen later in the day. However, what happens if they don’t? Well, that was the situation yesterday in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
One of the most popular rides in Disney World is Slinky Dog Dash, which you’ll find in Toy Story Land in Hollywood Studios. Yesterday, Slinky Dog Dash was closed when Hollywood Studios opened, and although we expected it to reopen later in the day, it stayed closed until the park closed.
First, this doesn’t happen often: it’s rare when a ride is closed all day if it isn’t scheduled to be closed for refurbishment. Second, we hate that those who wanted to ride it yesterday never got the chance. There isn’t much you can do to recreate a ride on Slinky Dog Dash, but if you want a roller coaster experience, you could always hop on over to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster instead.
To keep on top of ride closures like that when you’re in the parks, you’ll want to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app: this will let you know if and when a ride is closed and you’ll be able to see when a ride reopens.
