What Happens When Nearly ALL of Disney World's Most Popular Rides Go Down? We Found Out

The most popular rides in Disney World often garner some pretty high wait times.

But what happens when those rides are some of the ONLY ones that go down throughout the day? What happens to other wait times around the park, and the wait time for THAT attraction when it comes back up? Yesterday was the day to see how that all played out in Disney World, because the most sought-after rides in three out of four parks all had major closures throughout the day.

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run had the highest wait time of 85 minutes earlier in the day, which we feel was partially due to the fact that, at the time, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was closed. Magic Kingdom struggled pretty intensely with ride closures, especially at the start of the day — Tiana’s, the PeopleMover, AND Seven Dwarfs Mine Train were all closed in the first few hours of the day, which didn’t allocate crowds very well.

Epcot

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hit a 105 minute wait, largely due to the fact that Frozen Ever After was closed for the first THREE HOURS of the day. Although, thankfully there were no other ride closures throughout the day, so that helped even out wait times for the rest of the day.

Flight of Passage hit a 125-minute wait with NO ride closures in the park, so needless to say, this ride is still more than popular with guests. While Dinosaur did have some trouble later in the day, Animal Kingdom had a good day overall!

Rise of the Resistance hit a 105-minute wait after its SECOND closure of the day, and boy did those wreak some havoc on the other wait times during the day. Slinky Dog Dash also went down later in the evening, but thankfully only for one hour.
