This Newly Reopened Disney World Ride Continues to Have MAJOR Issues

Well, it’s been less than a week since this Disney World ride finally reopened after a 16-month closure…and we’re seeing MAJOR issues.

Now, this isn’t something new, necessarily. We saw ​something similar happen with Test Track when it reopened in EPCOT, as well as other attractions that reopened following long closures. But Big Thunder Mountain Railroad? Well, this one is one of the longest we’ve seen in a while, so we really hope these issues don’t stay around for too long.

Let’s take a look at wait times from Thursday, May 7th.

Magic Kingdom

The day did NOT start out great for multiple different rides, with Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (which, yes, just reopened on May 3rd), Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and Enchanted Tales with Belle. Big Thunder was closed for the first FIVE hours of the day, while Enchanted Tales with Belle was closed four hours in a row. TRON Lightcycle / Run had the highest wait time of the day at 85 minutes, which wasn’t anything too surprising, but what we did take away from this day? We’re VERY worried about Big Thunder.

It was certainly a VERY weird day for wait times in Hollywood Studios. The highest wait time was Tower of Terror at 80 minutes, which was likely due to half the ride going down, as it jumped from 40 minutes to 80 minutes in one hour, then back down to 50 minutes the next. Not only that, Alien Swirling Saucers jumped all the way up to 60 minutes, which hasn’t happened in a LONG time.
