Summertime continues in Disney World! The temperatures are high, the crowds are large, and we hope you’re staying hydrated.
Summer also means that it’s hurricane season once again, AND there’s just generally tons of rain that isn’t related to hurricanes! Outdoor rides will close when lightning is nearby, which means we expect to see some rides go down when it rains. But THIS many rides going down in one day? YIKES.
Here’s a look at the Disney World wait times on July 6th, 2024. Spoiler alert: it was a rough day for ride closures.
Magic Kingdom
The highest ride wait time of the day was a tie between two attractions! Space Mountain and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train both had the highest wait time, only 60 minutes! However, the problem lies in the fact that FOUR of the largest and/or most popular rides in the park CLOSED multiple times throughout the day: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, PeopleMover, and Haunted Mansion.

In a shocking turn of events, Tower of Terror had the highest wait of the day at 120 minutes! When you see it jump like this, it’s likely because one or more of the elevators has gone down, but the others are able to keep it open. But, you guessed it, the ride troubles continued even MORE, and they were pretty significant — Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster both closed during the day.
