CONFIRMED: Universal Announces NEW Dining Pass

Budgeting while you’re on vacation can be very difficult, especially if you didn’t do it before the trip began, but there are some things you can do to make it easier.

Yes, planning ahead is a big one, so we highly recommend that, as well as factoring in what your budget is exactly for, such as separating a snack budget from a souvenir budget. However, Universal Hollywood has just announced an easier way to know in advance what you’ll be paying for food with their new Dining Pass!

According to KTLA, Universal Hollywood has now unveiled a new Dining Pass, which starts at $59 before taxes and fees (after those, it’ll cost you about $65 per person, per day).

The pass includes two eligible entrées and four eligible sides, snacks, desserts, or beverages at select dining locations around the park. You’ll know if something is included, because you’ll see a Dining Pass logo next to it on the menu — very similar to seeing what snacks are included in the Dining Plan at Disney World!

The menu was developed by Executive Chef Julia Thrash, as well as her culinary team. When asked about the new offering, she stated that they, “take enormous pride in preparing an eclectic menu for our guests and want our food offerings to be as exciting as the rides and attractions.” Together, Thrash and her team oversee the park’s 30,000‑square‑foot production kitchen.

It’s important to note, however, that the Dining Pass can’t be used on items priced at $25 or more, alcoholic drinks, Starbucks, Coca‑Cola Freestyle cups, in retail and merchandise locations, on souvenir or collectible items, on special events or promotions, candy, or in Universal CityWalk Hollywood. The Dining Pass can also only be used on the day you purchase it, and it activates when you buy your first item included on the pass.
