Imagine this: you get to Disney World and you’re so excited to ride your favorite ride. Or you’ve been excited to ride something for the very first time.
You make your way across Disney’s Hollywood Studios and enter Toy Story Land, where you are shrunk down to the size of a toy. You make a beeline for Toy Story Mania, but then notice that it’s closed. What do you do? Well, this is the exact scenario Disney World visitors had to deal with yesterday for a while.
Yes, ride closures happen in Disney World, but sometimes they last longer than normal. For example, yesterday, Toy Story Mania was closed from 10AM to 3PM, for a total of over five hours. That means you had a narrow window before it closed, as well as later in the day to catch the ride open.
What can you do when that happens? Well Toy Story Mania is such a unique ride that there really aren’t any other rides in Hollywood Studios that are similar. However, if you make it over to Magic Kingdom, you can hop on Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin for another Toy Story-based ride that’s also a game.
However, if a ride DOES close while you’re in Disney World, your best bet is to keep an eye on it in the My Disney Experience app so you can see when it reopens.
