So, you think you can just waltz right up to any ol’ Disney World ride and hop on? Think again!

Of course, you probably already know you’re going to have to wait in a line or two during your trip, but in some situations, you actually need to do a whole lot more than just that. We don’t want you to be caught off guard on your next visit, so make sure you don’t make these terrible decisions on this EPCOT ride!
We’re begging you not to make these terrible decisions the next time you ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT!
Forgetting About the VQ Drops
Disney’s virtual queue system allows you to “wait” in line without physically standing in a line! Instead, you must join a virtual queue on the My Disney Experience app at either 7AM or 1PM, then wait for your group to be called — Cosmic Rewind is one of these rides.

But, if you don’t know ahead of time that this ride doesn’t offer a standby line, you could be seriously disappointed by the time you walk up. Forgetting to be up in time to snag that 7AM virtual queue or not being in the park to get that 1PM one can make or break your day. Of course, you do always have the option of purchasing a Lightning Lane Single Pass for this ride, too!
Not Taking Motion Sickness Meds
Cosmic Rewind is an incredibly unique roller coaster. In addition to the normal twists and turns, loops and dives, and high speeds, you also have the added effects of the omnicoaster design. Essentially, each ride vehicle is able to rotate a full 360 degrees depending on where you’re supposed to be looking.

Folks who are already prone to motion sickness on regular coasters or dark rides might have a problem with the spinning, and there are also some screens throughout the ride. Don’t forget to take those motion sickness meds if they help you!
Riding After a Huge Meal
Even if you’re not prone to motion sickness, you might want to be cautious of when you’re planning on riding Cosmic Rewind — especially if you plan on making eating a big part of your trip!

We recommend avoiding large meals before riding, and you probably want to try and stick to foods you normally eat at home if at all possible as well. You don’t want your ride to be ruined because you ate too many churros.
Not Requesting Row 9
You probably know that folks tend to request the first — or sometimes last — row on rides to get the best seat for all the action. But, you might hear people requesting a different row on Cosmic Rewind — row 9!

There may be some potential spoilers for the ride in here, so proceed with caution, but essentially — at the beginning of Cosmic Rewind, the ride vehicles turn 180 degrees. So, what was the last car with rows 9 and 10, now becomes rows 1 and 2 ahead of the backward launch. You can feel some serious g-forces from this spot!

I cannot over emphasize how important the motion sick advice is. I’m ok on most attractions but I don’t do well spinning. Not knowing this before getting on, I got very nauseous. Thankfully there was a bench just outside.
