Shocking Trend Revealed by Disney World Wait Times

You’ve heard a lot about rope dropping, and you may have even heard varying advice about it, even from us.

Sometimes, it certainly pays to rope drop, but other times, it really doesn’t. If you’re the kind of Disney park-goer that likes to sleep in, we have some surprising news for you if you’re headed to Magic Kingdom.

For the majority of Disney World’s theme parks, the lines are already pretty long for most rides — especially the popular ones — at rope drop. Maybe that’s because so many people are now rope-dropping that it doesn’t make as much of a difference. If you’re unfamiliar, rope dropping is what you do when you visit the park right at opening time (or maybe earlier!).

Over at Magic Kingdom, a majority of the rides had wait times of less than 25 minutes right after park opening on July 13th, 2023, so if you’re going to rope drop, that’s the park to visit.

In looking at the wait times on  July 13th, we see that only a few rides had longer wait times at 9AM: Jungle Cruise, Space Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Everything else, though? You’ll be waiting 25 minutes or less!
