What Happens in Disney World When Magic Kingdom Closes at 6PM? The Truth May Surprise You!

It’s October now, which means that Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is in full swing! It’s nearly Halloween, after all.

On party nights, Magic Kingdom closes early at 6PM. In the past, this has meant that there are fewer people in the park and wait times are lower, but other times, we’ve seen the total opposite! October 4th was one of the first parties of October, but what did wait times during the day look like? Let’s find out!

Magic Kingdom

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON Lightcycle / Run both tied for a wait time high of 65 minutes, which isn’t bad for a Friday! Overall, wait times here were relatively moderate the whole day, but there were a lot of ride closures, including Space Mountain, which was closed pretty much the ENTIRE day!

Epcot

Typically, wait times jump in EPCOT once Magic Kingdom closes on a party night. While we did see Frozen Ever After jump to a 105-minute wait around the same time as Magic Kingdom’s closure, wait times didn’t really jump up as high as we’ve seen in the past!

Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey both tied at 75 minutes during the SAME hour, which was certainly surprising! We’ve seen Na’vi jump up higher than Flight of Passage, yes, but having both rides be that high at the same time was a little shocking!

In a shocking turn of events, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run hit a whopping 125 minute wait at 1PM, while nothing else was closed or down! Wait times were relatively high overall, which isn’t uncommon for a Friday, but again, they didn’t necessarily seem to jump either after Magic Kingdom closed.
