Disney fans are absolutely AUDACIOUS in EPCOT.

EPCOT is basically the home park for many Disney Adults, and sometimes we see wild behavior here, both from longtime fans and first time visitors. Let’s talk about it!
Start in Canada to Drink Around the World
First, WHY are you people still starting in Canada? Personally, I’m more of a “snack around the world” gal, but some of my coworkers shared this thought with me. One said, and I quote, “You mean to tell me you’re gonna start with beer, and END with tequila?? MADNESS.”

And now that I think about it, that does sound pretty absurd. Do you guys like hurting yourselves?
The 5 Unspoken Rules for Drinking Around EPCOT
Get Drunk and Do Ridiculous Things
While we’re on the subject of drinking, let’s get serious for a moment. The number of people who go beyond their personal liquor limits in EPCOT and start behaving like fools is out of hand. You guys, this is a family park, and you need to be realistic about stopping drinking before you do something you’ll regret.

There are thousands of people in the park with you, and we’ve seen family vacations get ruined time and time again because of drunk shenanigans. Also, it’s definitely never a good idea to drink and start climbing park monuments or going into places that are clearly sectioned off from guests. That’ll get you kicked out SO fast. Drink responsibly, folks.

Rope Drop Spaceship Earth
Back to silly again…why are people still rope dropping Spaceship Earth?! You guys, I get that it’s the first ride you come to if you’re entering through the front of the park, but rope drop literally anything else. I promise, Spaceship Earth is not the strategic move.

Why? Since it’s the closest to the park entrance, this ride sees its highest wait times in the mornings. If you go further back into the park, you’ll find rides that are shorter 5-10 minute waits first thing. Or even better, pick one of the heavy hitters like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, Frozen Ever After, or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and do that first thing.

Shove People in the Guardians Preshow
On a more serious note again, the nonsense in the Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind preshow needs to stop. This ride features two preshows, the second of which opens to the last section of ride queue. And during that second preshow, it’s not uncommon for folks to push and shove to find a spot closest to the exit.

This creates multiple problems. First of all, it’s not safe and it’s rude to the other guests. Second of all, it makes it so that people who’ve never ridden the ride before often have a hard time hearing the pre-show and understanding the story of the attraction. Also, shoving to get to the front of the line will only shave mere minutes off your wait time. If you hang back, you’ll have a more relaxing experience and less risk of injuring yourself in the crowd.

Skip the Manatees
Real talk, are you truly enjoying EPCOT to its fullest if you haven’t seen the manatees?! Even after riding The Seas with Nemo and Friends and going through the aquarium at the end, many people don’t realize there’s a manatee exhibit off to the side, and it’s SO COOL.

The manatees in the exhibit swap out from time to time as new ones come to EPCOT to be rehabilitated, but they’re gentle, slow-moving, and so entertaining to watch. It’s such a fun and unique feature of this park, and they’re a Florida icon. You can’t miss out!

Plan to Visit When There’s Not a Festival Happening
Last but not least, I often find myself wondering why people plan to visit EPCOT outside of festival seasons! There are really only a few weeks throughout the year that there isn’t a festival happening in EPCOT, so it’s pretty easy to visit when the park’s all jazzed up.

There’s just something special about EPCOT during festivals. During the Festival of the Arts, you’ll find creative displays and homages to artists. When the Flower & Garden Festival is happening, the park will be decorated with stunning topiaries and flower beds. During Food & Wine, you can enjoy dishes from dozens of food booths with fun themes, and when it’s time for the Festival of the Holidays, you get to celebrate the holiday season in an extra special way with lots of bonus entertainment. Without the festivals, EPCOT is still a great park, but the festivals add something more.
