The NEW Rules for Drinking Around the World in EPCOT

Even the biggest EPCOT experts may not be aware of some of these under-the-radar aspects of drinking around the world!

Drinking around the world has long been a favorite of EPCOT guests, as sampling various specialty beverages is a highlight of a trip around the World Showcase. However, even veterans of the trip around the world might not follow these World Showcase “rules.”

Some Of The Best Bars Are Hidden

Many of EPCOT’s drink locations like La Cava del Tequila in Mexico or the Rose and Crown Pub in U.K. are large parts of their pavilions; there are also some relatively “hidden” bars scattered throughout.

Some of our personal favorites include:

Sake Bar

Japan’s Sake Bar is located in the upper level of the pavilion, between Teppan Edo and Shiki Sai, and sells many of the same sakes and cocktails that the more visible Garden House sells… INCLUDING the ever-so-popular Violet Sake. Bonus: If you’re unable to climb the stairs to reach it, there is a little elevator tucked away in the corner of this two-story building that you’re more than welcome to use to help you get up to the second floor!

Wine Bar

If you walk into Weinkeller — over in the Germany Pavilion — too quickly, you might think it’s just a retail shop selling bottles of wine, chocolates, cookbooks, and other German-themed souvenirs. But if you take a closer look, you’ll spot a bar in the back of the shop where you can actually order wine by the glass. If you’re in the mood for a little extra, you can sometimes pair your drink with an Artisanal Cheese Plate or try a Wine Flight, which lets you sample a few different offerings from the bar.

Sangria Bar

Tucked away deep into the Morocco Pavilion — you’ll find the Morocco Snack and Beverage Cart! This tiny and fairly unassuming little bar packs quite the punch… and by punch we mean sangria! You’ll find both red and white sangria for sale here, as well as sangria for two. So you’ll pay one price but get two cups so you and a friend can go halfsies. The sangria itself is sweet without being overly so, and also has a bit of spice and tartness from the fruits that are also served in the cup.

Champagne Bar

The France Pavilion gives you ample drinking around the world choices, but a pretty underrated spot to grab a drink from this place is over at Le Vins de France!

Layered Slush

You can find Le Vins de France across from the  L’Artisan des Glaces ice cream shop.

This bar looks more like a gift shop than a drink stop — which is why those who are drinking around the world might pass it over. But if you DON’T pass it over, you’ll not only find wine here that you can purchase by the glass OR by the bottle to take home with ya, BUT you can also choose from an array of champagne — including champagne flight options, too!

Technically, There Are TWELVE Countries To Grab Drinks From

While World Showcase technically as 11 countries, there’s a 12th region where you can grab a refreshing beverage. Located between China and Germany pavilion, you’ll find the Outpost.

Refreshment Outpost

This Africa-inspired area isn’t really a full-fledged pavilion – in fact it was originally built as a preview/placeholder the Equatorial Africa Pavilion which never ended up being built – but it does have a few little outdoor shops that you can browse as well as the Refreshment Outpost, where you can find ice cold beverages, frozen slushes, ice cream floats, and seasonal offerings, too (both boozy and non)!

Mocktails Count, Too

Drinking around the world and relying solely on cocktails is HARD, folks. It’s hard on your wallet AND potentially hard on your body, but it doesn’t have to be! In fact, you can have plenty of FUN drinking around the world without alcohol!

The World Showcase has SO MANY fun (and tasty) mocktail options that are HALF the price of what you’ll pay for an alcoholic beverage in the park (maybe even less than that), AND everyone in the family can join in on the taste-testing.

Some of our FAVORITE mocktails around the world include:

  • The frozen citrus pomegranate slushy from Oasis Sweets and Sips in Morocco
  • The Naufrago (which is a root beer float with authentic vanilla gelato) from Gelateria Toscana in Italy
  • The Kristoff Kaffee (a Frozen Coffee with Coffee-Chocolate Sauce and a Coffee-Chocolate Crunch garnish) from Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in Norway

Hit Up The Margarita Window

Mexico’s La Cava del Tequila is one of — if not THE — most POPULAR place in World Showcase to stop and get a boozy beverage during the day. However, if you don’t feel like waiting 30-45 minutes before a table opens up during the busiest time, La Cava del Tequila also has a to-go window… but that line can get pretty long too!

So what’s a guest to do? Head to the to-go margarita window in the Mexico Pavilion over at Choza De Margarita AND La Cantina de San Angel. These margs might not be handcrafted like you’ll find over at La Cava, but they’re still fruity, refreshing, and VERY very boozy!
