Everyone dreads the feeling. Checking the weather app during your Disney World vacation to see that there’s nothing but RAIN in the forecast.
If you’re anything like us, you’d gladly take a little heat if it means you don’t have to traipse through puddles and be confined to a poncho all day. The rain can cause a lot of discomfort that sends many visitors back to their hotel for the day. Well, that makes rainy days the PERFECT time for you, dear reader, to stay INSIDE the parks.
Rainy day wait times are the BEST a lot of the time. For example, let’s take a look at wait times from March 3rd, 2024 in Magic Kingdom. Magic is a notoriously busy park with several popular rides. Plus, March 3rd was a very rainy day.
All day long, you’ll see that the wait times for each ride was pretty moderate. Most of the rides were around 25-35 minute waits, with popular rides like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train peaking at 75 minutes but remaining around an hour. Mine Train usually boasts anywhere from a 75 to 100-minute wait during peak hours, so this is NIIIIICE.
However, you’ll also notice that some rides did close to due inclement weather. More people typically leave the parks at this time, so look what happened at the indoor rides that DIDN’T close! The wait times stayed around the same and didn’t skyrocket. Plus, the wait times for the closed outdoor rides also didn’t skyrocket when they reopened.
