This Disney World Hotel Just Convinced Me to Ditch My Favorite Resort

Did you know there is a group of hotels near Disney Springs, ON Disney World property, that offer many of the same perks as Disney-owned Resorts?

Renaissance Orlando Resort

Among them is the Renaissance Orlando Resort & Spa, which we were recently invited to tour. Should this hotel be an option for your upcoming Disney World vacation? Let’s dive in and find out!

Let’s start out by taking a look around the property and seeing some of the highlights. The Renaissance Orlando Resort is located in the Disney Springs area of Disney World property, officially within the Disney World gates. Its owned by Marriott and under their umbrella of hotels.

Renaissance Orlando Resort

This hotel is home to 394 guest rooms, and it offers complimentary daily transportation to the Disney World theme parks. You also get perks like Early Theme Park Entry, which is only available to hotels on Disney World property.

The lobby

There is a resort fee to stay here, which is $39 each night of your stay. Also, if you bring a car, there’s a parking fee of $30 per day. However, even with those fees taken into account, this hotel can be cheaper than many or all Disney Resorts, considering we spotted rates on its website for as low as $121 per night. (And that’s without any discounts or special rates!)

Inside the convenience store

The Renaissance Orlando Resort has four dining locations (including an indoor bar and a poolside bar) as well as a pool and a gym.

The gym

They also have an arcade and an on-site convenience store. There’s a buffet breakfast available on the weekends for $25 and the resort also hosts amenities like fitness classes and lawn games.

Arcade

It has quite a bit to offer for a non-Disney hotel, and while there isn’t much “Disney-fication” here, the property was nice and well-maintained.

Pool bar!

So now that we’ve explored a bit, let’s take some room tours!

Tower Room

Starting out with the basic Tower Rooms, you can get these in King Bed or 2 Queen Bed configurations. These were surprisingly trendy in style, and a bit more elevated than other non-Disney hotels in the Disney Springs area.

The Tower Room

In the main room, the two queen beds share a nightstand with a table lamp. There are outlets built into the table with regular wall plugs, USB ports, and USB-C ports. Handy!

Nightstand

There’s a seating area with a small sofa and a coffee table. The curtains have two layers — one for privacy and one for blackout.

Seating area

The view from the tower balconies is simply stunning — we could see several other hotels and a section of Disney World.

The view!

Across from the seating area lives a wardrobe with ample storage. There are sections for hanging clothes, drawers, and shelves. This is also where you’ll find your safe, iron, ironing board, luggage stand, and laundry bag.

Wardrobe

The dresser is a 3-in-1 with a desk and TV stand as well. Over here, there’s another table lamp, a single-cup coffee maker, more drawer storage, and bottles of water. There are also more in-table outlets on the desk.

Desk

Third Rock Coffee and Harmony Tea Company products are stocked next to the coffee maker, as well as a few to-go cups with lids. Cream and sugar are available as well.

Coffee pods

Under the TV, the cabinet houses a mini fridge.

In addition to the water bottles, you’ll get two water glasses and an ice bucket.

One feature that we thought was handy and versatile was this ottoman. It can be used to create more storage for luggage, or be moved around the room for seating.

An ottoman!

The bathroom was decently-sized with a glass shower, toilet, and sink all in the same room. There’s a large mirror and vanity setup here.

Bathroom

Under the vanity you’ll find your hair dryer, towels and extra toilet paper. There’s a good amount of shelving here to store belongings.

In the shower, they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from Kevin Murphy in pump dispensers.

Finally, there’s a full-length mirror next to the door, across from the bathroom.

But this is just the basics. What about the next level up?

Lanai Room

The next room category we checked out was the Lanai Rooms. This particular setup has a King Bed and a bunk bed, so you’ve got more flexibility when traveling with littles.

The lanais in these rooms overlook the pool area, and they are STUNNING. Imagine waking up to this view?!

The Lanai

The bunk beds are themed with Mickey Mouse sheets and comforters to give that touch of Disney. They’re regular twin-sized bunks with safety railing and a ladder to reach the top.

Bunk beds

Like the other rooms, there’s a desk-dresser-TV stand combo with coffee maker, television, ice bucket, and mini fridge. A desk chair and lamp make for a convenient workspace, particularly with the in-desk outlet options.

This room has nightstands on either side of the King Bed, each with its own lamp and outlets. They each come with a drawer and two shelves.

Also, the same curtain setup is available here for privacy. You don’t get the indoor seating area in these rooms, but there’s more open space to move around.

Nightstand

Instead of a wardrobe, this room came equipped with a closet. This is where you’ll find the safe, the iron, and the ironing board as well.

Closet

And of course, we can’t forget the full-length mirror!

Mirror

Here, you have a split bath setup with a private room for the toilet and tub. The main space has a vanity with a single sink and a light-up mirror. Towels, toilet paper, and the hair dryer are stored underneath.

Bathroom

The room we visited was accessible in design, so it had railings and a bathtub with a removable showerhead. Like the other rooms, some toiletries are provided.

Now, on to the final room we toured!

Family Suite

If you really want some more space and privacy, consider a Family Suite. These rooms have separate bedrooms as well as their own living space with a couch, coffee table, chair, and TV.

The master bedroom here had a king bed with two nightstands and lamps. This room also had the desk-dresser combo with a TV on top.

The secondary bedroom has two twin beds with its own TV and dresser, as well as one nightstand.

There are two bathrooms here as well, the larger of which has a massive mirror and two sinks.

It also comes with a large jacuzzi tub…

The secondary bathroom is smaller in size with everything in one room. It has a single vanity and round mirror, plus some storage.
