Disney Files Permit for Changes at Spaceship Earth

Disney World has a lot of construction going on right now, but it’s exciting thinking about all the new things the theme parks will soon be getting, including new lands, reimagined lands, new rides, and more.

So we get excited when we see new permits filed for buildings, rides, and lands in Disney World because that means something NEW is coming. So, we just spotted two new permits for Spaceship Earth in EPCOT, and although it’s not as exciting as we would like, it still means something is getting updated on the ride.

Now, we’ll admit that we’re still waiting for that big Spaceship Earth ride update that never happened, so we were happy when we noticed a new permit filed for the ride. However, the permit is to install signage, so it’s not quite the same as a full-blown ride update. But it does mean that a new sign will likely appear around the ride soon.

That’s not the only permit we recently spotted, though. We also spotted a permit to install signage in EPCOT for the festival playground behind Mission: SPACE. So it looks like Disney is probably updating a few signs in the park.

Finally, we spotted a new permit for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, too. This permit is for Fantasmic! and it’s for electrical work. Now, we see these kinds of permits all the time, so it’s probably just some maintenance on electrical work around the Fantasmic! area.

Disney files permits all the time for refurbishment, maintenance, and more, so these seem to be pretty standard projects and nothing too exciting. But we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more permits so we can get an idea of the kind of work Disney is doing in the parks. So check back with AllEars again soon for more.
