Monsters, Inc. Ride Update! Disney World’s MASSIVE New Coaster Takes a Huge Step Forward

We know we aren’t the only ones who get super giddy and excited whenever an update drops about the Monsters, Inc. Land coming to Disney World!

When we first heard that a Monsters, Inc. Land was coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, we were filled with enough excitement already. However, once Disney told us that it would feature the roller coaster we had been dreaming of, that’s when we freaked out. Speaking of, we need to show you this photo of the progress being made on the ride!

We officially got a look at some new construction that has taken place on the show building for the brand-new attraction coming to the park, thanks to a new aerial photo by @bioreconstruct. The photo shows that Disney has put in the concrete floor for the roller coaster. Our main thought — look how large the base is!

According to @bioreconstruct: “An auger was in this site, worked right to left (in this viewpoint) to drill holes that were filled with concrete. Resulting pilings partially excavated at left. Cut to height, floor cast on top.” You’re going to hear us keep bringing this up, but look how big the attraction is going to be!

Once the concrete floor was finished, part of it was covered with protective plastic. Look at the workers hard at work!

The new roller coaster is a suspended coaster, which will be the first one EVER at a Disney Park. It’s going to be themed around the door chase scene from Pixar’s Monsters, Inc. movie. It’s an iconic scene that is destined to create an unreal and unforgettable experience.
