Refurbishments are a fact of life in Disney World. Rides, shows, attractions, and restaurants are often closed for refreshes, repairs, and technological upgrades, some for longer times than others. In fact, it’s rare to have a day when EVERY attraction at the resort is operational.

2026 is scheduled to be a massive year of change at Walt Disney World, with some rides closing forever and others reopening with brand-new themes, all while massive construction projects continue across the resort. With all that to come, what’s June going to look like? Let’s see.
Magic Kingdom
Thanks to the May reopening of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, June marks the first time in well over a year that at least one major Magic Kingdom ride isn’t closed for refurbishment.

However, that doesn’t mean the park is closure-free. Big Top Souvenirs — the circus big top-themed store located in Fantasyland’s Storybook Circus — has been closed since February, and is scheduled to remain so through June, according to Walt Disney World’s calendar. The store is still scheduled to reopen sometime this year.

EPCOT
EPCOT’s Refreshment Port, the food outpost changing to La Poutinerie. While Disney has released scant details, including no menu or opening date as of press time, we know the new spot — which will be sponsored by airline Air Canada — will bring “a Canadian classic with a twist.” Also, given the name and the long-time popularity of the spot’s poutine, it seems like a given that the iconic snack will be a major draw for the new location.

As for the physical transformation of the space, a Notice of Commencement permit was recently filed to install set elements, which is typically listed on permits when Disney is working on the exterior of a building or attraction. In addition, the contractor listed on the permit was Icarus Exhibits, which has worked with Disney in the past, including at EPCOT, most recently on the new version of Test Track. Currently, work is scheduled to be closed through June.
Animal Kingdom
While Bluey takes over Animal Kingdom’s Conservation Station, the rest of the attraction — including Affection Section — remains closed at least through June 14th. Beginning on the 15th, the area is NOT marked as under refurbishment on the 5-day Walt Disney World calendar, but also has no hours listed as of yet.

As always, bear in mind that while these are the scheduled closures currently on the Walt Disney World calendar, there’s always the chance that any given ride or attraction can go down unscheduled, so be sure to keep an eye on the Disney World app while planning your April visit. Stay tuned to AllEars for further updates on Disney World’s calendar.
