REVIEW: These 4 NEW Snacks in Epcot Are A Picky Eater’s Dream

When you visit World Showcase in EPCOT, you’re bound to find tons of snacks you’ve never seen before — that’s the beauty of basically traveling around the world in one theme park!

Time to eat some new treats!

Over at Mitsukoshi in the Japan Pavilion, you can find some of the most unique snacks in the entire park, and that’s just one thing we love about it. Recently, we spotted some new bread treats that we knew we had to try, and we’ve gotta admit, they surprised us a bit!

Right now, you can grab four new Japanese-style flavored breads inside Mitsukoshi, all of them looking like traditional breads you’d find inside a Tokyo convenience store. While all the breads have a very similar texture — light, soft, and with that slightly chewy bite that sits somewhere between bread and dessert, especially with the chocolate, strawberry, and blueberry versions, the flavor is where things differ a bit.

Blueberry Bread

The Blueberry Bread, available for $3.49, is the standout amongst them. It has a clear flavor that cuts through the sweetness of the bread and gives you something to hold onto, which we really appreciated.

As for the Chocolate Bread, also available for $3.49, you mostly get the chocolate aroma rather than taste. You get that initial hit when you bite into it, but it fades fast. Then, you’re left with the bread itself, which isn’t a bad thing, just not what you expect going in.

Then, you’ve also got the Strawberry Bread for $3.49, which hits somewhere in the middle. The flavor is there, but not super strong, and you do get it aromatically as well. It’s a good middle-of-the-road option.

Strawberry Bread

There’s also the White Peach Paste Bun available for $4.49, which is a little different. It’s thinner, more delicate, but is still soft and chewy. It’s the only one that’s filled with anything, though, and the filling is more like a jelly than a paste. It’s smooth, slightly glossy, and strong enough that you notice it, but it’s not overpowering.

Are these anything special? No, not really, but they’re also not trying to be. They’re simple, sweet, and are easy to walk around with, which we think makes them perfect for picky eaters. Personally, I’m looking forward to trying the Chocolate Bread on my next visit! It feels unique enough since you’re getting it from Japan and it’s *slightly* unfamiliar, but it isn’t too jarring for people who need to stick to their safe foods (ie, me).
