A Popular Disney World Resort Just Opened a NEW Pool

It’s no secret that 2026 has been a year of construction and closures at Disney World. However, one area that has been closed for refurbishment is finally open!

We recently went over to Fort Wilderness and saw the brand-new pool area, and we’re excited to jump in!

The Fort Wilderness Campground Resort is located next to the Wilderness Lodge. The resort offers a unique, laid-back traditional camping vibe that you can’t find at any other resort. We’re talking camping in tents, RVs, and the new cabins. It’s a very popular resort, and for good reason!

Like many resorts, the Fort Wilderness has been seeing construction throughout the year. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool at the campground is still undergoing some refurbishment, but there’s a brand-new pool that just opened up.

The pool is surrounded by the woods, immersing you in that campground feel. It’s a simple pool, great for a chill and relaxing time.

There are a lot of places to sit and tan. There’s also a River-Country wagon…

…and a playground! With the opening of the pool, this resort is starting to look more full once again.

Stepping over next door, the Wilderness Lodge hotel, along with Copper Creek Villas & Cabins, is still undergoing refurbishment. The construction is set to go through late 2026.

Disney usually does a good job of staying out of the way of guests, but this construction work could limit views at the hotel. You’ll also see and hear construction being done during the day at the resort. Most amenities at the hotel will remain open, so it shouldn’t be too much of an inconvenience. Just something to consider if you’re planning to stay here.
