NEWS: Changes Revealed for Popular Restaurant at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

If you’ve got an upcoming trip to Disney World this summer, we’ve got some construction news to share with you that’s happening at one of the most popular resorts on property.

We have gotten no shortage of construction and refurbishment news at Disney World this year, and the trend continues with Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort — one of Disney’s best deluxe resort hotels. We got word that the resort will be going through two different construction projects this summer!

Starting today, on April 23rd, updates will be made to the exterior roofing at Wailulu Bar & Grill in the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. This construction will go through late June, as of right now.

Thankfully, the Wailulu Bar & Grill will remain open for service during the work. However, every day from open until 5 PM, the bar will offer walk-up service only, and seating will be unavailable. Seating will become available from 5 PM to close.

You’ll want to keep in mind that if you come to eat and drink here, construction activity will be noticeable during daytime hours. Disney always does trites their best efforts to minimize disruptions, but we understand you can only do so much.

Also, Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been temporarily closed due to refurbishment work at the Grand Ceremonial House. The work began in mid-April and will continue through late June. Guests may see or hear refurbishment work during daytime hours until the work is complete.

Tiki Terrace is a popular spot at the resort, so it is unfortunate that it will be closed for the beginning of summer. There is no official opening date just yet. All we know is that it should reopen in “late June”.

Whether you’re planning on staying at this resort or you’re going to come visit while you’re doing your resort hopping, you’ll just want to be aware of the construction going on at both places.
