Disney Quietly Hints at Potential End Date for Cinderella Castle Transformation

Magic Kingdom is changing… a lot! Between the castle getting a new look and two new lands under construction, the park will look totally different in a few months -– or so we thought.

A popular Magic Kingdom show is changing, and it’s performed right at Cinderella Castle! Because of this, our team of Disney experts is pretty sure that Disney just quietly revealed when the painting of Cinderella Castle will be done!

In Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, Mickey hosts some of your favorite Disney characters while they celebrate friendship with a musical extravaganza on the Cinderella Castle stage! Back in January, when the repainting began, showtimes were changed to afternoons only at 1:00 PM, 2:05 PM, 4:00 PM, and 5:15 PM.

Disney stated back in January that the castle will be repainted only in the mornings, leaving the park afternoons interruption-free with cranes lowered by noon. Disney also shifted their show lineup, including Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire, to account for the afternoon construction.

But starting on Sunday, May 10th, the showtime schedule will change. Instead of the current schedule with exclusively afternoon and evening shows, there will be a new showing of Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire in the morning at 11:10 AM!

This new morning showing likely means that Cinderella Castle will be finished by May 10th! The painting process has been very complex with towering cranes, and it’s unsafe for actors to perform while work is happening overhead. Of course, Disney hasn’t officially announced anything, but we’re hopeful this means the castle repainting will be done soon.
