A Hollywood Studios Attraction Is Closing AGAIN — Just 4 Months After Reopening

When we’re at Hollywood Studios in the hot summer heat, we love heading over to an underrated theater for air conditioning and Mickey Mouse!

Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie at the Mickey Shorts Theater will now close next week!

Vacation Fun will close on April 29th and will reopen on an unspecified date later this year. The 10-minute-long show starts with Minnie calling Mickey, asking if he’s packed for their vacation. He then reminisces on past vacations featured in the Mickey Mouse shorts — including trips to the zoo to see a panda, Egypt, Yodelsburg, and the ever-popular Potato Land!

Vacation Fun recently closed on October 20th, 2025, for refurbishment. It quickly reopened on December 27th, 2025. When the refurb was announced, Disney also posted an unspecified “later this year,” so we’re hoping Vacation Fun will be up and running in the next few months!

While this show is a hidden gem in and of itself, the theater houses one of our favorite photo spots in the park. As you exit the theater, there are four photo ops from scenes from the short: Egypt, the Panda, Yodelsburg, and Potato Land! Plus, there are outlets so you can charge your phone during your photoshoot.

If you want to fit Mickey and Minnie into your Hollywood Studios day during the closure, you can meet Mickey and Minnie themselves at Red Carpet Dreams. Minnie is in a gorgeous Hollywood glam dress, while Mickey is wearing his signature Sorcerer’s Apprentice outfit!

If you’re craving a ride, head over to Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. On the family-friendly attraction, you’ll step through the movie screen and join Mickey and his friends inside the wacky and unpredictable world of the Mickey Mouse Cartoon Shorts. This zany out-of-control adventure features surprising twists and turns, dazzling visual effects, and mind-boggling transformations that happen before your very eyes.

If you’re in the park at night, you can catch Fantasmic! starring the mouse himself! Mickey battles evil Disney villains with the power of imagination and the help of some iconic Disney characters, including Elsa, Moana, Aladdin, and Mulan.
