Before you finalize your Disney World game plans, you might want to listen up. We keep a close eye on all the latest refurbishments and closures so that you can be prepared for your next vacation. And now, we’ve got TWO new closures to talk about.

First of all, we should mention that construction walls are up in multiple places around Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom (to make way for the new lands and experiences). Those walls also mean that MULTIPLE attractions are currently unavailable in these parks, and it looks like we have more attractions to add to the list — Disney just announced two more temporary closures. Here’s what you need to know.
Over in Magic Kingdom, Disney has announced that Mickey’s PhilharMagic will be closed for refurbishment beginning November 1st and reopen later in the month (according to the Disney World calendar, it’s looking like it will reopen November 23rd).

Mickey’s PhilharMagic is a 4D show located in Fantasyland featuring a 150-foot-wide, 180-degree seamless wraparound screen. The story is pretty cute — Donald Duck gets up to some trouble, and, of course, things go awry as he finds himself in a flurry of classic Disney animated musical sequences. As part of this refurbishment, the seats in the theater will be replaced, according to theme park reporter @ScottGustin.

Unfortunately, that’s not the only closure just announced — Disney also quietly revealed that Vacation Fun in Hollywood Studios will close on October 20th for a refurbishment, but unlike the other show, there is no current reopening date at this time. Disney has said it’ll be “later this year,” but we’ll have to keep our eyes on the calendar for more information.

During this show, you’ll have a seat in a theater (inspired entirely by Mickey and Minnie Mouse), and watch a short film that celebrates Mickey’s favorite vacation memories, complete with never-before-seen animation mixed with clips from favorites shorts like Panda-monium, Couples Sweaters, Potatoland, Croissant de Triomphe, Entombed, Dumb Luck, Al Rojo Vivo, Yodelburg, and Outback at Ya!. It’s a nice place to escape the crowds and enjoy a little AC, but for now, you’ll have to find somewhere else to spend your afternoon in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Yikes, that adds another closure to the list for BOTH of these parks for a significant amount of time. Over in Magic Kingdom, you’ll also find Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin closed in October and November, and in Hollywood Studios, the entirety of Animation Courtyard (minus Walt Disney Presents and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure) is closed for the foreseeable future, as is the former Muppets Courtyard.
