New Concept Art and Up Close Look at Disney's Lakeshore Lodge

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge is the newest Disney Vacation Club Resort, and we’ve been excited to see it up close since it was announced in 2024. Disney heard our pleas because we were able to see the new resort ourselves!

Lakeshore Lodge is currently under construction, but Disney invited us for a sneak peek of the site!

When we arrived, we started with a breakdown of new concept art for the resort! During this presentation, Imagineers showed off the nature-inspired details of the property. It all begins when you arrive at Lakeshore Lodge — the experience will “unfold down a one-mile tree-lined vista” that will creat a kind of “nature compression.” The resort itself has “larger gestures” toward nature.

Skylights and glass will provide open, sweeping views of nature from the lobby and porte cochere, and the lobby is designed to be a “grand expression” of the outdoor world around it.

We also learned during the presentation that Lakeshore Lodge will be packed with recreational opportunities for guests, and those recreational offerings will provide guests chances to engage with the natural environment of Bay Lake.

While Wilderness Lodge nearby is themed to the Pacific Northwest of the United States, Lakeshore Lodge pays homage to the Southeast region of the country. Trees and water elements will be a large part of the architecture and theming.

Then, we hopped on a boat and headed to the resort itself. Similar to neighboring Fort Wilderness, you will be able to board a boat directly to Magic Kingdom from Lakeshore Lodge.

We took a tour by water of the exterior of the resort and Imagineers shared a few details about its backstory. They noted that Disney IP would be involved, though details will be announced at a later date. We’ve got our fingers crossed for Brother Bear!

Lakeshore Lodge will be home to 967 staterooms, from cozy studios to spacious suites, including cabin-like rooms that appear up in the trees! The resort will also have one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses on the waterfront. Many of the rooms will offer views of Bay Lake and Magic Kingdom fireworks.

While it will be a Disney Vacation Club resort, even non-DVC members will be able to stay at the hotel. Disney has noted that in the coming months, they’ll share more info about the “dining locations, recreational offerings, amenities, and distinctive design details” that make Lakeshore Lodge special!

Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge will open on an unspecified date in the summer of 2027. We’ll be on the lookout for any updates!
