There are plenty of places around Disney World that can be loud and overstimulating. But, believe it or not, there ARE some hotel rooms where you can find a peaceful break from all of the excitement! We’re breaking down the quietest hotel rooms at Disney World, so you know exactly where to book…and what to avoid!

Room Types to Avoid

Just about every hotel in Disney World has its louder areas, so when we’re on the hunt for a quiet room, there are a few key things we try to avoid. First, rooms that face the pools or are near the lobby tend to be some of the most high-traffic areas, which also means lots of noise throughout the day! Avoiding a room near the pool can be especially important if you’re traveling with a napper, since the pools are often most crowded around peak nap time in the afternoon.

Other high-traffic areas include transportation hubs (like bus stops or Monorail stations) and elevators, so we also try to avoid hotel rooms around those spots as well when we’re in the mood for quiet.

On top of areas that tend to get the most foot traffic, the other feature that lends itself to a louder environment is exterior hallway rooms, as is commonly found in the Value Resorts.

Of course, your hotel experience can vary depending on the guests staying in the rooms around you during your trip. But, in general, those are some of the hotel areas and features we try to avoid when we want a quiet trip and are making our room requests (more on that later!).

Quietest Hotel Rooms in Disney World

There are a few Disney World hotels that stand above the pack when it comes to consistently quieter rooms! First up, let’s talk about the Fort Wilderness Cabins. Disney’s Fort Wilderness is a huge, 750-acre wilderness preserve that feels miles away from the theme parks, even though it’s only a short boat ride from Magic Kingdom.

Here, you’ll find standalone cabins with full kitchens, patios, and plenty of space between neighbors. The cabins are SUPER quiet, since you’re not sharing walls with other guests, and the trees and distance between cabins do most of the soundproofing you could need.

The Fort Wilderness Cabins offer a private, peaceful atmosphere and plenty of space, including a full kitchen and outdoor areas, making them great for larger parties. Just keep in mind that the isolation also means things are more spread out, so it takes longer to get around the resort and to the parks than the other Magic Kingdom area hotels. Those who prefer a more traditional hotel experience might not love the different vibe of the Fort Wilderness Cabins, but if peace and seclusion are your top priorities, you’ve found your fit here!

Another place where we’ve had lots of quiet hotel stays is Port Orleans Riverside. Themed after the rural bayous and stately mansions of Louisiana, this is often cited as the most tranquil Moderate resort on Disney World property due to its massive, sprawling footprint.

The resort is split into two distinct sections: Alligator Bayou (rustic lodges in the woods) and Magnolia Bend (grand manor houses). Because the buildings are so spread out, the “hustle and bustle” of the lobby is far removed from most rooms. It also has five “quiet pools” that are tucked away in the residential areas, which stay much calmer than the main Ol’ Man Island pool.

Port Orleans Riverside has a lot of things going for it in addition to the quieter rooms! They also have newly renovated Tiana-themed rooms, relaxing boat transportation to Disney Springs, and “5th sleeper” rooms for larger families in Alligator Bayou, all at a good value for the price.

The large size of the resort does mean a lot of walking and a long internal bus route, plus the rooms are exterior-facing, so you may still hear the occasional suitcases rolling by. But for a good shot at a quiet room that won’t break the bank, this hotel is a solid pick!

If you’ve got the budget for a Deluxe resort, there are several quieter hotels in that category, starting with Saratoga Springs Resort. Saratoga Springs offers a tranquil setting with a Victorian theme inspired by upstate New York. There are no massive central towers, so foot traffic is divided across many different areas.

Most of the rooms face quiet spaces like golf courses, gardens, or the lake rather than high-traffic walkways. The atmosphere around the hotel is relaxing, and it has an excellent spa and multiple quiet pools that are perfect if you’re looking for a more mature vibe for your stay!

The hotel area is a bit large and confusing, so it can be easy to get lost here, and as a Deluxe resort, it’s on the more expensive end. But if you’ve got the budget to spare and don’t mind navigating the large grounds, this hotel is one of the more peaceful options around Disney World!

Another great choice in the Deluxe category is Animal Kingdom Lodge, a unique hotel that brings the African savanna to Florida, with hundreds of exotic animals housed across four lush savannas.

Many of the rooms here are Savanna View and face outward toward the animals, so the only sounds you’ll typically hear are the relaxing natural ambiance, like bird calls or soft rustling. Animal Kingdom Lodge has such a peaceful atmosphere, unique views thanks to the live animals, and exceptional dining to top it all off, so it’s really the best of both worlds when it comes to relaxation with amenities still right down the hall!

Since Animal Kingdom Lodge is so remote, it is a longer bus ride to the parks than most other hotels, plus it has the higher Deluxe price tag. But if you plan to spend a decent amount of time at the hotel during your vacation, it might be worth the splurge considering the one-of-a-kind atmosphere and tranquil setting!

Last up on our list, we’ve got the original Disney Vacation Club property, Old Key West. This hotel is themed after a breezy, tropical Florida Keys escape, and it’s very large and spread out, so foot traffic is minimal near the individual buildings.

Old Key West features some of the largest rooms and villas on Disney World property, with parking right outside your door, making it feel like a private home. The grounds are decorated with peaceful, lush landscaping, and you can also enjoy relaxing boat rides to Disney Springs to bask in the zen vibes!

The resort area might feel “too big” if you get a room far away from the lobby, and there aren’t as many dining options as some of the other Deluxe resorts. But if you don’t mind things being a bit spread out, Old Key West allows you to enjoy the peace and quiet while staying just a quick boat ride away from Disney Springs!

These five hotels are our go-tos when snagging a quiet and relaxing room is at the top of our priority list for a particular trip!

How to Request a Quiet Room

Guests can enter room requests when completing online check-in, as early as 60 days before the start of their vacation. A few requests that can improve your chances of getting a quiet room are to ask for an upper floor and request to be away from pools, elevators, and transportation.

Guests can also call Disney a day or two before arrival to confirm room requests. Just be sure to be polite and kind to the Cast Member you speak with, as they’ll do their best to accommodate requests, but have to work with lots of factors beyond their control!

Remember that nothing is guaranteed with room requests! Availability of rooms can vary, and while these tips can maximize your shot of snagging a quiet room, it’s not a 100% guarantee under any circumstances. No matter where you stay, there are positives to enjoy about all of the hotels and plenty of magical moments to look forward to on your vacation!
