ROOM TOUR: Go INSIDE Disney World’s NEWEST Hotel Rooms at the Polynesian Village Resort Island Tower

Aloha, islanders! We have some exciting news.  A brand-new addition to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is almost OPEN, and we’re taking you on a tour of the Island Tower!

The lobby

From its nature-inspired tonal color palette to the incredible new restaurant, there’s a lot to talk about at the Island Tower. But one of the most important parts of any hotel is the ROOMS — it’s where you’ll spend most of your time, after all. Come with us for a FIRST LOOK at the new rooms at the Polynesian Island Tower in Disney World.

The Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort balances the old (and iconic) Polynesian vibe we know and love with a new, modern look. You’ll notice Manta Ray illustrations inspired by Polynesian tattoos throughout the hotel, as well as other wildlife native to the Polynesian Islands. Every creature is part of the story; the Manta Ray is said to symbolize freedom, protection, and grace.

Speaking of Polynesian art, Disney revealed that Imagineers worked with artists from all over the world to create artwork that was unique to the new villas. The details are stunning!

Now, let’s get into the details. The Island Tower is the newest Disney Vacation Club addition. You don’t have to be a Disney Vacation Club member to stay here, though! This new addition features several different room types that will sleep two to nine guests. Room types include duo studios, one- and two-bedroom villas, and new two-bedroom penthouse villas. Some rooms may even have a theme park view!

We were able to tour a Duo Studio Room, and we have a LOT to share. These rooms are meant for up to two people, so these are the smallest rooms in the tower.  Right as you walk through the door, you will be greeted with a light, tropical atmosphere.

Duo Studio Room

The entryway leads into the room itself, where you’ll see a seating area with a comfy couch, a footstool, and a full-length mirror.

Sofa

So, at this point, you might be wondering, “Where’s the bed?” Well, that sofa is actually part of a Murphy bed that you can pull down.

Murphy bed

The idea here is to utilize space effectively.

With bed pulled down

Of course, there’s a flatscreen television and a dresser opposite the bed.

TV

Beside the bed is a kitchenette with a stove and microwave, as well as a coffee maker and everything you need to make a quick meal in your room. This is also where you’ll find the “Hey, Disney” Alexa device.

Kitchenette

The bathroom is next to that, and there is a toilet and shower.

This room also has a balcony.

Balcony

The balcony overlooks a stunning view of Seven Seas Lagoon — this hotel is about as close to the water as you can get in Disney World. One thing we discovered, though, is that the balcony doors are a little hard to open because you get a lot of wind on that side of the building struggling against you.

Nice view

We also got to tour a Deluxe Studio Room. This room sleeps up to four people. Let’s step inside.

Deluxe Studio Room

This room is a bit larger and has a standard bed, as well as a sofa. The room layout is a little different, and there’s quite a bit more space in this room.

Bigger room

Opposite the bed is the TV and a dresser, as well as a seating area.

Lots of space

The sofa in this room is also a pulldown Murphy bed.

Another Murphy bed situation

One thing we have to point out is that the views aren’t all equal. Some have views look out over the Grand Floridian, which kinda breaks the immersion.

The kitchenette is bigger in this room and includes a dishwasher.

The bathrooms are one big room, but the toilet is separated by a privacy door.

Separate toilet room

We’ve never seen that in a Disney World hotel before.

These rooms also have a shower.

We also got a look at a 2-Bedroom Villa. These rooms sleep up to nine people.

Let’s go inside!

These rooms feature a full comfy living area.

Opposite the living area is a pull-out bed (and the TV).

Extra bed

These rooms also have a full kitchen.

There’s even a dining area.

Space for dining

The first bedroom is spacious and also has a view looking out over Seven Seas Lagoon.

First bedroom

The second bedroom has two beds and its own balcony and view.

2nd Bedroom

The bathroom in these villas is unbelievable — there’s a shower and tub. Like in the other room, the toilet is in its own separate room.

HUGE bathroom

The villas also have their own washer and dryer. You can also book similar 1-Bedroom Villas that include the same amenities.

Now we’re moving on up to the Penthouse! These are two-bedroom penthouse villas that can sleep up to eight guests. So, yes, these rooms are FANCY. There’s a massive living area and dining area.

MASSIVE living area

The TV situation in the huge living area has a dual TV thing going on.

This villa also has a full kitchen.

The first bathroom (yes, there are multiple bathrooms) has a standard shower set-up.

There’s also a main bathroom that looks like the one we previously saw in the other villa.

The first bedroom is huge and features a lot of space.

The second bedroom has two beds.

Of course, the balcony has a beautiful view of the Lagoon.
