Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts have a lot in common…but they also have some key differences! Here’s how to decide which one is the best fit for your vacation.

Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club are sister resorts that share several features like location, nautical themes, and even many of the same amenities. But despite the numerous similarities between the two, they are FAR from identical! The two resorts each offer their own unique experience, including some essential differences that could impact which one is the best choice for you.
How Are Yacht Club & Beach Club Similar?
Yacht Club & Beach Club are both Deluxe resorts located in the EPCOT resort area. They’re considered sister resorts and are situated right next to each other, so as far as location goes, they are super comparable.

Speaking of location, one of the biggest perks of both Yacht Club & Beach Club is easy access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, thanks to the walking path that connects the hotels to the two parks. Since the two hotels are right next door, the walking time to the parks is super similar, and depends more on where your room is located, rather than which hotel you’re in. It’s typically about a 5-10 minute walk to the International Gateway entrance of EPCOT, or a 15-20 minute walk to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Another perk the hotels share is access to many of the same amenities, including a health club, tennis and volleyball courts, daily activities, and, probably the most important of all, Stormalong Bay. Stormalong Bay is the big pool shared by both hotels, and it’s essentially a mini water park. A few of the highlights include a lazy river, a 230-foot-long waterslide, and a sand-bottom pool, making it an attraction in itself. Guests must be staying at a hotel to use the pool, so if Stormalong Bay is at the top of your vacation bucket list, it’s good to know that you can access it regardless of whether you choose Yacht Club or Beach Club.

The other major similarity between the two hotels is price. Since they are both in the Deluxe resort tier, pricing is often very comparable between the Yacht Club & Beach Club. Pricing varies by date and availability, so there may be times when there is a larger gap in pricing. But for reference, when creating a sample booking for about 6 months out, the price difference between Yacht Club & Beach Club was less than $10 per day.

Now that we’ve reviewed the big similarities between the two hotels, let’s take a look at what sets them apart!
What Are the Key Differences Between Yacht & Beach Club?
Don’t be fooled, these sister hotels are far from identical twins! Even though both hotels have a nautical theme, the specific atmosphere and vibe are super different. The Yacht Club Resort is themed after a New England-style yacht club, which comes through in its elegant and upscale decor. Overall, the Yacht Club has a much more formal feel and tends to be the quieter hotel of the two.

In comparison, Beach Club Resort is themed after New England seaside hotels of the early 1900s, giving it a more casual and family-friendly vibe. You’ll find pastel colors and beachy decor here, compared to the polished and upscale look of Yacht Club.

A similar trend carries through in the hotel dining options. Yacht Club is home to some fancier, more high-end dining locations, including Yachtsman Steakhouse and Ale & Compass Restaurant.

The Beach Club is home to some super family-friendly restaurants, including the popular Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and Cape May Cafe, which offers character dining at breakfast. Of course, guests can make a reservation at any of these restaurants regardless of where they’re staying. But if you’re planning to do a lot of dining at your hotel, it may be more convenient to choose the one that has your preferred dining experiences right down the hall!

One of the biggest differences between the two hotels is that Beach Club Resort has a dedicated Disney Vacation Club wing, the Beach Club Villas. If you’re booking a vacation with Disney Vacation Club points and want to get the best value, you’ll likely want to opt for the Beach Club Villas, since there are no dedicated DVC rooms at Yacht Club Resort. Disney Vacation Club points can be converted to use for non-DVC rooms, but the rates are typically much higher, so again, if you’re looking for bang-for-DVC-buck, Beach Club, it is!

To round out our list of differences, Beach Club is slightly closer to EPCOT and the International Gateway Skyliner station, while Yacht Club is slightly closer to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Again, the difference in location is pretty negligible and depends more on your room location. But if you’re at a complete 50/50 tie between which of the two hotels to pick, it might give a tiny edge to Beach Club for those planning to spend a ton of time at EPCOT or to Yacht Club for those with more Hollywood Studios days planned!
Is Yacht Club or Beach Club Right for You?
With so many shared perks and amenities, the good news is that there’s no “wrong” choice between Yacht Club and Beach Club! For most guests, the choice ultimately comes down to which theme, atmosphere, and overall vibe they prefer.

For guests who prefer more upscale theming, a quieter atmosphere, and easy access to fancy dining, Yacht Club may be the better choice between the two.

On the other hand, for guests who prefer a more relaxed vibe, are traveling with young children, or want to get the most value out of Disney Vacation Club points, Beach Club is probably the better option.

As is the case with many Disney World plans, the “right” choice comes down to which is the best fit for you and your travel party!
