Yes, your Disney World vacation is going to be magical, but sometimes, things will still not go according to plan.
Maybe you’ve visited the parks when it’s really crowded. Maybe you’ve visited after a favorite seasonal snack has already left the menu. Maybe your favorite ride is closed. Ride closures are normal in Disney World, but they don’t have to ruin your day when they happen.
Some ride closures are due to refurbishment schedules — the good news is that you usually have some notice of when those refurbishments will happen. Most ride closures in Disney World, though, are unexpectedly caused by things like technical problems or other issues. For example, yesterday, October 17th, 22 rides were closed throughout the day in Disney World.
Now these rides don’t generally stay closed for the full day, so if a ride closes, you just need to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to see when it reopens. Also, you should prioritize those attractions that are on your “must-do” list and hit those as early in the day as possible, in case they close later.
The most important thing you can do, though, is be flexible. These things happen, but if you go into your vacation understanding that, you’ve already won half the battle. Find other attractions to ride in the meantime and take advantage of the extra time you might have to notice all the little things in Disney World (and believe us, those little things are just as magical).
