One Ride Was CLOSED Almost All Day in Disney World — And It’s Not What You’d Expect

Well, it’s time to look at another day in Disney World — so we’re checking out wait times and ride closures.

Yes, we said “ride closures,” because it happens more often than you think. Now, the good news is that most ride closures are usually temporary, but sometimes, certain rides seem to have really bad days.

Recently, one ride was having a particularly bad day at Disney World. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin was closed for a while (most of the day, in fact!)  in Magic Kingdom. The ride was closed until 9PM, which means it was only open for a few hours at the end of the night.

Now, Magic Carpets of Aladdin isn’t one of Disney World’s most popular rides, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant offers a similar ride experience (and it was open all day), but it’s always a good idea to be flexible with your plans if a ride you have in your plans is closed.

Interestingly, a Cast Member told us the Magic Carpets of Aladdin attraction sometimes closes due to birds and insects. Now, we don’t know if that’s why it was closed most of yesterday and how big of a factor that really is, so do with that information what you will.

Also, most rides don’t remain closed as long as Magic Carpets of Aladdin did yesterday, but if you want to know when a closed ride reopens, you’ll need to keep a close eye on the My Disney Experience app.
