Two Disney World Rides Are Closing…And That’s Why These Wait Times Are Surprising

Two rides in Disney World are CLOSING, so you’ve only got a limited time to ride them before they’re gone!

​With Disney’s latest series of announcements about the changes coming to DinoLand, U.S.A. in Animal Kingdom, we were expecting some distraught fans to make trips to the park to say goodbye to the two closing attractions. But is that happening?

Just a few days after we got the official news that DINOSAUR is being replaced with an Indiana Jones attraction and TriceraTop Spin is on the chopping block as well, we expected the wait times for these rides to increase a bit. However, the wait times on Monday, August 12th were just as short for these two rides as they always are.

TriceraTop Spin remained relatively unpopular throughout the day, with wait times hovering around 10 minutes, while DINOSAUR only hit a peak of 45 minutes for a short time. So what gives? Well, it might be related to the fact that the ride closures aren’t super imminent.

During the Disney Experiences showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Chairman Josh D’Amaro revealed that construction will begin on DinoLand, U.S.A. starting this fall, but that things will happen in phases. He told fans that they would “still have time” to enjoy DINOSAUR before it closes!

So if you’re hoping to get in one last ride, you might want to schedule your trip soon. For now, take a look at the rest of the wait times from Monday, August 12th.
