EPCOT Could Be The Most Popular Park This Summer — Here’s How We Know

Summer crowds are officially starting to creep into Disney World, and we’re keeping a close eye on wait times every day to help you plan your trip.

Even though the season has only just begun, we’re already starting to see a very interesting pattern, but it’s not entirely unfamiliar. Despite other parks having newer attractions, it seems the most popular park, similar to what happened during spring break, is EPCOT!

Let’s check out wait times from Friday, May 15th!

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit a 90 minute wait twice during the day, right in the middle, and again at the end of the day, but what’s really got us concerned is Space Mountain. The ride was closed for two hours at the beginning of the day, then closed AGAIN for two more hours later on. While it’s wasn’t a great day for ride closures overall, this is certainly the ride we’re starting to keep a close eye on.

Epcot

EPCOT was quite the popular park yesterday, with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hitting a 140 minute wait for the first time in a while. It doesn’t help that Spaceship Earth, Gran Fiesta Tour, and Test Track all had closures throughout the day, but they all were very short-lived, so it really just seems like some of those summer crowds could be arriving! In comparison to the other three parks, this park had the highest wait times average overall, all throughout the day. This is similar to the trend we saw during spring break as well, and we theorized it had something to do with the fact that it’s the park with the least amount of construction right now. Could the same trend happen this summer? So far, signs are pointing to yes.

Wait times were perhaps the best we’ve seen in Animal Kingdom in a LONG time! It’s not every day you see the wait time for all attractions sit BELOW 40 minutes two hours before park closure, and sit at 10 minutes or lower at the final hour! Interestingly enough, the highest wait time went to Na’vi River Journey at 70 minutes, so this really was quite the strange day — we’re not complaining though!

Things also got interesting in Hollywood Studios, where the highest wait time went to Toy Story Mania at 90 minutes! The only closure of the day was Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, which only lasted an hour, so overall, it just seemed like it was also a pretty great wait times day for DHS as well. We’re not complaining!
