Is This Annoying Magic Kingdom Ride Trend Going Away Soon?!

For weeks now, we’ve seen one particular ride trend happen in Magic Kingdom.

Right at the end of the day, TRON Lightcycle / Run often has the highest wait time it’s had all day, so we’ve been advising against waiting until the evening if you want to have a shorter wait time. However, now that we’re getting into fall and it gets darker earlier, it’s possible this trend could be gone within the upcoming weeks!​

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run’s highest wait time of 65 minutes came at the end of the day, once again, a trend we saw skipped for the past few days but now seems to be returning. However, as the season goes on and it begins getting darker sooner, we have a feeling this will even out, as it won’t only be dark for the last hour of the park day (which is usually when everyone rushes over there — the ride is extra epic in the dark!). It’ll still be busy, though, especially with the overlay hitting the ride on September 15th!

EPCOT had a bit of a rough start to the day with Journey into Imagination and Mission: SPACE closed, and then Test Track was closed for three hours in a row, leading to the highest wait time of 105 minutes. Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure also had some issues, which didn’t help with wait time distribution — thankfully, the Food & Wine Festival gives people plenty to explore if their favorite rides are down!

Rise of the Resistance hit the highest wait time of 90 minutes in the third hour of the park day, and while it stayed relatively high all day, it did drop slightly lower afterwards. However, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run did close for a total of three hours during the day, INCLUDING the final hour. Again, we don’t recommend waiting until the end of the day to ride something you’d been highly anticipating, as this does happen a lot.
