If you had eight hours to spend in Disney World yesterday, you could have ridden everything in Magic Kingdom, even in the height of the busy summer travel season!
We’re serious! Disney World in the summer is notorious for big crowds, higher temperatures, and the occasional transportation breakdown which is usually about the time we’re asking “are you ok?”. However, we were just able to pin down a day where you could have comfortably completed every ride in Disney World’s busiest park during the middle of all the summer shenanigans, and saying that out loud seems very surreal!
Summer crowds at Magic Kingdom have been known to make the wait times for the park’s rides and attractions soar (especially when you’re coming off of a holiday weekend). But, it seems we may have met an unexpected “calm after the storm” in the week after the Fourth of July.
When we were out taking in all of the sights and sounds around the park, we noticed the crowds seemed to be unusually calm for this time of year. Maybe you could attribute the lower crowds to folks traveling back from an extended holiday week, park hopping, or checking out the newest menus and stores at Disney Springs, but that was our experience.
To back up what we were seeing in the crowd levels, when we decided to really look at the hard evidence of the matter, we found that NONE of the rides at Magic Kingdom exceeded an hour’s wait time ALL DAY LONG!
That’s right — this means that the most popular rides in the park like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, and even rides that seem to ebb and flow in wait times through the day like Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin never saw a higher wait time than 55 minutes.
