Long lines in Disney World are a given, but that doesn’t mean they’re any fun.
There are some ways to make them more entertaining, like playing a game with your group or just starting a great conversation. If you’re by yourself, you can bring a book to read, or your Kindle (one of our favorite tips), but we still recommend avoiding long lines wherever you can. If you’re in the parks and you happen to see that one of the most popular rides in the park is around 60-70 minutes (which isn’t THAT high for some of them), here’s why we’re telling you that you SHOULDN’T get in line immediately, especially at this time of year.

Magic Kingdom
TRON Lightcycle / Run had the highest wait time of the day at 75 minutes, but we were so surprised to see it reach that high right in the middle of the day! While there were a few ride closures at the start of the day, with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure closed for the first two hours consecutively, things straightened out, and the park overall had a great day!

Flight of Passage hit a 70-minute wait in the early afternoon, but then the posted wait almost immediately dropped. If there’s one lesson to learn from this, it’s to NOT run to the hottest ride in the park when it has a high wait time. Especially if you notice the park isn’t necessarily super busy, you may want to give it an hour or two if you can and see what happens — in this case, two hours after being at 70 minutes, the wait dropped to 35 minutes!

Tower of Terror hit a 105-minute wait, but the jury’s out on whether that was because the line was genuinely that long or if it was because only half the ride was functioning that day. The ride was closed at the start of the day, and we never saw it drop below 40 minutes, which is unusual for this time of year. Slinky Dog Dash and Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway also had some issues during the day, but fortunately, those didn’t mess up wait times too badly.
