Yikes! Almost HALF the Rides in Magic Kingdom Closed Unexpectedly Over the Weekend

We’re in Disney World every single day, and I can personally say I’ve seen some pretty rough days when it comes to Disney World rides having issues, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a day as rough as this.

It’s normal to see a few rides struggle a bit in each of the four parks, but to have over FIFTEEN rides closed in one day in ONE PARK? Yeah, Magic Kingdom, we don’t know what’s going on, but you’ve gotta get it together.

Here’s a look at the wait times for Saturday, August 9th, 2025.

Magic Kingdom

TRON Lightcycle / Run hit the 95-minute wait we now expect to see each night right before park close, so that wasn’t a surprise, but what did throw us off was that FIFTEEN rides closed during the day, and only ONE of those hours was due to storms in the area. Popular attractions like Peter Pan’s Flight, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and the PeopleMover were all down multiple times due to other technical difficulties as well, with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train being down a total of five hours IN A ROW.

Flight of Passage hit 105 minutes in the middle of the day, which is not typical. While Dinosaur did have some issues early in the day, and storms affected Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest for one hour, we think this park had the fewest closures in the whole resort.
