We’re always spotting new snacks and drinks in Disney World, which is exciting in theory, but we’re the first to admit that sometimes these new treats fall flat.

At the end of August each year, Disney celebrates World Princess Week, which often means new merchandise, snacks, and everything in between. We’ve started to see some of these treats pop up early, so you know we’re trying them ASAP. We heard about a new boba drink in Disney’s Hollywood Studios to celebrate, but we have to admit, it wasn’t at all what we were expecting.
Bubbles of the Sea is $7.29 and is located at The Market in Pixar Place. It’s made with Gold Peak Sweet Green Tea, Lemon Juice, Pineapple, and Guava, and is topped with Boba Pearls and a splash of Shimmer.

First things first — this presentation isn’t quite as gorgeous as it looks on the poster. We were missing our hint of shimmer, and all the boba pearls fell to the bottom immediately. We could taste the green tea and guava, but the lemon and pineapple weren’t coming up in our sips. The boba itself had a slightly green apple taste to it, but it wasn’t sour.

The more you drink it, the more the drink’s green color blends with the purple, which means it turns a pretty unappealing brown color. As for the flavor, we could see it being a big hit with kids since the fruit flavors mask the earthier flavors of the green tea. The popping pearls are super fun, and we love the idea of this drink for World Princess Week, but overall, we do wish the presentation was just a little better.

Here’s another look at the model drink! Of course, we never expect it to look exactly like the poster, but something similar would be great.

We tried the Rapunzel Berries and Cream Cake at the Art of Animation Resort, also for World Princess Week, and we were completely blown away by the presentation.
