Where Can You Watch the Kentucky Derby at Disney World?

When you’re at Disney World during a huge sporting event, where do you go?

The best place to watch sports at Disney World

The 152nd Kentucky Derby is happening this weekend, and fans of the race are excited. We’re sure some of you have your plans to watch at home, but there are others who might be on their Disney vacation right now. For those of you who are at Disney and aren’t sure what to do, don’t worry, we know some spots you can go to catch the race!

The Kentucky Derby is taking place on Saturday, May 2nd at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky. The main race time is set for 6:57 PM EST. However, there will be television coverage on NBC starting at 2:30 PM. Coverage will also be on USA Network, and streaming on Peacock and the NBC app.

Thankfully, if you’re on Disney World property, there is no shortage of places to go for the race. The only thing you should have to worry about is choosing one of the many options. Let’s get into it, and you can find what suits you best.

Saratoga Springs

Over at the Saratoga Springs Resort, there’s a dining spot called The Turf Club Bar and Grill. This lounge is a casual spot with a walk-up bar and covered patio seating. Not only does it have TV’s to watch the race, but the lounge itself is themed as a racetrack clubhouse with equestrian decor throughout. Talk about the perfect spot!

Beach Club Resort

It wouldn’t necessarily be our first pick, but Disney’s Beach Club Resort has a lounge called Martha’s Vineyard that you could check out. It’s a little smaller, but it is kind of Sports Bar-esque. If you’re staying at the resort or you’re close by, it might be worth the peep.

Coronado Springs

Out of all the Disney World resorts, Coronado Springs might have the best option for you to watch the race, and that’s Rix Sports Bar & Grill. It has more seating than the other two options, TV’s all around, with a good chunk at the bar. The bar is a walk-up, but you can also reserve to dine there. The area is in a more open space, so it could be louder here than in other lounges, but we like this spot.

Disney Springs

If we had to make our bet for the BEST spot to watch the race, we would put our money on City Works at Disney Springs! City Works is THE spot to catch sports games and events at Disney World. Not only are there tons of TV’s inside, but they are big. You can dine inside, where there is a lot of seating, or outside. This is our pick for where you should go to catch the Kentucky Derby.

City Works

We’re sure you can find spots at all the Disney World Resort hotels, as well as spots in Disney Springs, but these are our favorite options. If you’re catching the race, we hope you enjoy it! Remember, Saturday, May 2nd at 6:57 PM EST, with NBC coverage starting at 2:30 PM. Make sure to follow us at AllEars for all the best Disney World tips and tricks!
