BOO! It’s time for Oogie Boogie Bash!

We’ve already been to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in Disney World, but now it’s time to head to Disneyland for more Halloween fun! Tonight is the first night of Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure, and we’re here to tell you what to expect this year.
Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed after-hours event, so you don’t need a regular park ticket to get into California Adventure if you have a party ticket. The bash takes place on select nights from now through Halloween, with ticket prices ranging from $139 to $199.

This is a limited ticket event, so that means most rides have lower wait times. The party also includes exclusive entertainment, merchandise, and food. Now talk specifics!
Getting Started
Your Oogie Boogie Bash ticket grants you access to Disney California Adventure as early as 3 PM, although the party doesn’t officially start until 6 PM and runs until 11 PM. For those who arrive early, there will be a special entrance marked for party guests, where you’ll get your Oogie Boogie Bash wristband. When we entered for the day, there was NO line at security, which was a nice surprise!

If you’re driving into the park for the party, you’ll want to keep an eye out for traffic and allow additional travel time. Right around 2 PM, the traffic to get off the freeway was wild. The north exit actually took us a little over an hour to drive through, so be prepared for some traffic!

You’ll also get complimentary treat bags from Cast Members when you enter. Warning, though: these bags are pretty small, and you’re going to get a LOT of candy. We recommend bringing a bigger bag for all that candy!

You can also pick up a special event map that will include everything you need to enjoy the party. The map will guide you to all the villain trails, special character meet-and-greets, special entertainment, and more. It’s a good idea to keep this handy!

Let’s get into the fun, shall we?
Treat Trails
What about that CANDY we mentioned? You can visit the treat trails (which will be marked on your party map) and go trick-or-treating. Along the way, you might meet some wickedly cool characters.

This year, a new character (Syndrome from The Incredibles) will be on the treat trails waiting to meet you!
Characters
Don’t worry, though, treat trails aren’t the only spots you can see characters during the party.

There are TONS of character sightings and meet-and-greets throughout California Adventure, and we can’t wait to see more! Our first stop of the night was to see the newest villain — Syndrome from The Incredibles! His line was all the way back at Goofy’s Sky School before the party even started, so if you’re hoping to meet him, either get in line when the park opens for party guests at 3 PM, or wait until later in the party for the line to die down a little bit.

We can’t wait to meet more characters throughout the night so stay tuned!
Frightfully Fun Parade
You definitely don’t want to miss the Frightfully Fun Parade, where you see some of Disney’s most iconic characters and villains. The parade happens twice a night at 7:45 PM and 10 PM.

If you’re planning to catch the parade, make sure to stake out your spot a little bit ahead of time.
Villains Grove
One of the most unique experiences at Oogie Boogie Bash is the Villains Grove. This is a walkthrough experience on the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail that comes to life with lights and projections themed to different Disney villains.

It can be SPOOOOKY.
Merchandise
There’s also a whole new merchandise collection for the party this year! Here’s what you can grab during the event, and be ready to pack your patience, because sometimes lines to grab this merch can get long!
- Oogie Boogie Bash Ears for $34.99

- Oogie Boogie “Frog’s Breath” Cup for $34.99

- Oogie Boogie Bash T-Shirt for $34.99

Food
Of course, there’s no party without special food, so you’ll find some special party-exclusive treats, too. We’ll be reviewing a ton of these eats, so make sure you keep an eye out for our reviews!

Look out for more about our experience at Oogie Boogie Bash this year! In the meantime, we’re always on the lookout for the latest Disney news, so stay tuned for more.
