Epic Universe Files NEW Permit…and It Could Be a HUGE Deal

Ever since Epic Universe opened, I’ve been obsessed with every single detail of all five lands. From How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk to Dark Universe, this park has changed the theme park game, and I’m here for it.

I love to check out different permits to get a good behind-the-scenes look at the theme park and to see what new projects may be coming, and Universal Orlando just filed a new permit!

According to @AliciaStella on X, Epic Universe has filed a permit to build a “17′ sound wall that spans 0.53 miles long.”

The area on the permit is northeast of Epic Universe and close to the wastewater treatment plant. It’s located by the South Water Reclamation Facility, and some guests have noted that they can smell part of the facility from inside the parks.

There have been rumors of Epic Universe already expanding the park, even though it only opened in May. From @bioreconstruct on X, there is a marked area that is being worked on, but we’re still not sure what this is for.

Is it just to add an extra layer between guests and the South Water Reclamation Facility? Is an expansion coming sooner than we think?

Another rumor floating around is that the wall being referenced in the permit is bright green, it might be something related to the Wicked movie. The second part of the movie is coming this November, and inside Universal Orlando, there is a Wicked: The Experience with movie props and merchandise.
