We just can’t trust this Disney World ride’s queue, and we’re ready to prove it!
We’re Disney World experts with reporters in the parks ever day tracking ride wait times, scoping out the latest menu changes, and even getting in those rare character hugs as we find them. But, this is one ride people struggle to trust us about the most, and we’re here to tell you, you can’t always trust what’s right before your eyes when it comes to certain rides at Disney World.
Waiting in lines for Disney World’s rides and attractions can be brutal, especially when they’re long and slow moving.
More often than not, seeing is believing and taking a quick census of the line queued for specific rides can typically give you a sense of if you should trust the posted wait time for the attraction before you ride.
However, we’ve found a ride where that’s not always the case and shouldn’t deter you from jumping in a longer ride queue. Gran Fiesta Tour in the Mexico Pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase is certainly a great example of this.
This ride had been closed for several weeks undergoing a quick refurbishment to enhance the ride’s capabilities for us to enjoy on our scenic trips around Mexico to track down Donald, which led to folks clamoring to dive in line when it reopened.
After a few weeks though, the line’s demand has seemed to calm down to its regular wait times we’re used to seeing for it, however, the line for the ride can get intimidating if you don’t know how quickly it moves. There have been plenty of times where we’ve witnessed the queue for this ride stretch outside of the building and out by the stairs leading into the pyramid, but we’re telling you not to be deceived.
This ride is one that has a higher capacity for riders and loads quickly for new boats, and often times there’s a break in the line inside you can’t see which allows visitors to walk through the pathway down into the plaza towards the restaurants and shopping and can also extend the line further than what it would have been had it not needed that extra space.
All that to say, this is a ride where you shouldn’t trust the line’s looks but rather its posted wait time for the attraction as it can be very deceiving to an untrained eye.

What’s the longest you’ve ever waited in line for a ride at Disney World? Tell us in the comments below!
I was just at Disney on April 10 and 11 and waited in line for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. I got in line at 6:45pm and the wait time posted was 65 minutes. Turns out the actual wait time was just over 2 hours. When I got off the ride, the fireworks had already started. So, I would say the posted wait time for that ride is severely off. Still a great ride though.
