It’s no secret that things are still VERY busy in Disney World. Spring Break season has brought a ton of people to the parks, and we’ve seen record prices for Genie+.
Not only that, but wait times for rides are VERY high. Rope drop isn’t necessarily the best strategy to combat those long lines, BUT it could still be a great way to tackle at least one park: Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We keep an eye on wait times in Disney World, and we’re sure you’ve heard us talking about how rope drop isn’t always the best way to get short standby lines. But yesterday in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, all but three rides (Slinky Dog Dash, Rise of the Resistance, Millennium Falcon) had short wait times right after the park opened. For example, the wait was around around 30 minutes for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway and even less for Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, and more!
So a good strategy for you could be to take advantage of Early Theme Park Entry to get even shorter wait times before the park officially opens. But even if you just make it for rope drop, you will still see some of the shortest lines of the day for most rides.
If you can swing it, buy Genie+ because then you can ride some of those rides AGAIN later using that and access the Lightning Lanes. Of course, you’ll still need to buy the Individual Lightning Lane option for Rise of the Resistance (if it’s a priority), but this would be a great way to get a lot of ride time in at Hollywood Studios.
