Disney World is about to change pretty drastically in the coming days, thanks to everything May 26th is bringing to the resort, but we’ll admit — since some changes hit early, we expected to see some pretty drastic changes to wait times in the parks, and that…hasn’t exactly happened yet.
What we WISH we could say we hadn’t been expecting (but we would be lying) is that we are noticing that after having a few good days, one particular Disney World ride is beginning to struggle again, and it’s got us nervous. Yes, this newly reopened Magic Kingdom ride closed for EIGHT HOURS STRAIGHT yesterday.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad had the highest wait time of 80 minutes, which is unsurprising since it was closed for EIGHT HOURS in a row! It’s been doing well these past few days, but this just serves as a reminder that yes, this ride is still new, and it’s likely going to continue to have some issues for some time.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind hit a 145 minute wait completely out of the blue, but we’re happy to see that it dropped afterwards. While this is one of the most popular rides in the park, it goes to show that if you notice this ride REALLY jump up in wait time, if you’ve still got a few hours until the end of the day, it’s likely worth it to just wait for a bit until it drops.

Things shook themselves up in Animal Kingdom a bit, as Na’vi River Journey had the highest wait time of 70 minutes! It’s been a minute since we’ve seen this, but hey, it totally can happen. While many guests say they don’t have an issue waiting over an hour for Flight of Passage due to how incredible the ride is, it’s rare people say the same about Na’vi River Journey, so our advice? We wouldn’t get in line if it’s over about 40 minutes.
