This Disney World App Change Has Us SUPER Excited For May 26th

We’re gearing up for how wild May 26th is about to be in Disney World, and if you’re going to be in the parks or plan to follow along from home, we suggest you start stretching now.

Bluey!

It was going to be an even BIGGER day, but Disney decided to open a few of their offerings early, such as Soarin’ Across America in EPCOT and the courtyard of The Walt Disney Studios in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Despite those early releases, the day is still going to be INTENSE in the best way, especially over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. To manage what Disney is sure will be big crowds, they’re bringing back a Virtual Queue for the first time in MONTHS, and believe it or not, it’s already on the app!

A Virtual Queue is exactly what it sounds like, but it takes a bit of research to join successfully in Disney World, because it moves FAST. Essentially, you’re joining a line virtually, instead of in person, and you’re given a group number if you successfully make it into the queue. When you group number is called on the My Disney Experience App, then you head to the attraction to wait in the physical line (though, it’s much shorter and manageable than it would be without the VQ) before experiencing the attraction.

Over in Animal Kingdom, Disney is getting to debut Bluey’s Wild World, and in anticipation of those high crowds, paired with the fact that you need to take the Wildlife Express over to the part of the park that houses the new attraction (formerly the Conservation Station), Disney has put a Virtual Queue in place for the attraction. While we’re still a few days away from the start of it, we just looked in My Disney Experience App, and sure enough, the Virtual Queue is already listed!

There’s currently a note stating that it’ll open at 7 AM on May 26th for those with valid admission, and then, again at 10 AM for those that are already inside the park. It’s good to see that it’s ready to go, though, and that makes us hope that there won’t be too many issues with it on the day of the drop.

Let’s play with Bluey and Bingo!

This new attraction is expected to be around indefinitely at this time, so we’re assuming we’ll see the Virtual Queue go away once demand lowers a bit, but again, since you do have to board a train to get there, and that line isn’t built to hold too many people, it’s also possible we could see this VQ stick around longer than normal. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out and keep you updated, but for now, just expect to use it and be ready at 7 AM and/or 10 AM!
