Disney’s Rise of the Resistance Ride SURPRISED US in Hollywood Studios

As you may know, we keep an eye on ALL the things going on at Disney World.

That includes everything from new food to construction to wait times and ride closures. There is one ride, though, that seems to consistently run into unexpected issues and closures. Yesterday, that ride surprised us.

Usually, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which is STILL one of Disney World’s most popular rides, goes down quite a few times throughout the week. In fact, it’s usually closed more than once on any given day; we’ve even warned you that this ride could be closed during your next trip to the parks. It makes sense — it IS one of the most high-tech rides at Disney World, which means a LOT can go wrong, resulting in temporary closures.

However, given its history, Rise of the Resistance had a good day yesterday, May 17th — the ride was not closed at any point throughout the day! As a result, we even saw some lower wait times for the ride, including a wait of just 25 minutes at 5PM. 

Granted, this is a rare occurrence, and Rise of the Resistance is pretty likely to close at some point throughout the week, but even when it DOES close, it usually reopens later in the day. That’s why it’s important to keep an eye on the My Disney Experience app to catch it when it reopens.
