Labor Day weekend is officially underway and you know what that means, right? Crowds in Disney World — or so you might think.
But the start of Labor Day weekend is still pretty quiet right now, at least on Friday, September 2nd. Wait times are still pretty low (although we’ll have to see what they look like on Saturday and Sunday) and we’re honestly a little surprised.
So what does that mean when it comes to Genie+? Well, you might not need it because wait times are still pretty low, save for the most popular rides — if those are a priority, you might want to consider Genie+ just for those specific parks and use the Individual Lightning Lane option to pay for those rides that offer it, like Rise of the Resistance.
You can also use a rope drop strategy to bypass a lot of lines — in general, most lines are shorter in the mornings shortly after the parks open. So getting up early and getting to the parks ASAP could be the best way to avoid lines (and avoid paying extra for Genie+).

The drop in attendence indicates that 1. The pent up desire for a WDW trip has been satisfied. 2. Rising prices paired with too many closed attractions = a poor value. And/Or 3. WDW has lost it’s specialness. Corporate’s decision to toss out the former carefree nature a WDW trip made it just one more pain-in-the-neck amusement park.
Lines and wait times are way to long. Disney is just trying to gwt everyone to buy the Genie+. Can’t afford to do this anymore. Sorry Disney. Please bring back the magic.
