The 4 Best Rides to Rope Drop in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Let’s just say you’re visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You’re at the park early and ready for rope drop (or even better, you qualify for Early Theme Park Entry).

What rides should you hit up first? The most obvious aren’t necessarily the best, and you’ll find yourself in a long line at rides like Slinky Dog Dash and Rise of the Resistance first thing in the morning. So let’s look at the rides you can knock out quickly at rope drop instead.​

So skip those rides that will have long lines first thing in the morning and knock out those with the shortest lines. This means you’d want to rope drop and hit up Star Tours, Alien Swirling Saucers, Toy Story Mania, and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers’ Run. All of these rides tend to have wait times of 15 minutes or less at park open.

Then you’ll have knocked out four rides in Hollywood Studios in a matter of an hour or so, leaving you time to focus on your other ride priorities, and see some shows (don’t forget all the amazing shows in Hollywood Studios, like Beauty and the Beast Live On Stage, Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, and Villains Unfairly Ever After). You’ll also want to leave some room to watch Fantasmic! at night.
