Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is chock full of some of the most beloved rides in the world, from decades-old classics to modern E-Ticket marvels. However, that doesn’t mean they’re all perfect.

From an iconic coaster in desperate need of physical upkeep to unfulfilling finales to one ride that might be too far gone, each of these attractions needs some IMPROVEMENT.
Space Mountain
Space Mountain is arguably the most pop culturally relevant Disney ride ever created, as its very name has become synonymous with roller coasters. However, the Magic Kingdom is known for something else: Being the best friend of Orlando-area chiropractors. Between the track and the ride vehicles, the coaster has a habit of beating up riders physically. So, much like its West Coast counterpart in Disneyland two decades ago, Florida’s Space Mountain could use a complete track replacement.

We could see this project being announced once Disney completes Villains Land and Piston Peak!
Jungle Cruise
Back in 2021, Disney made extensive changes to the finale of the Jungle Cruise, removing the culturally insensitive Trader Sam animatronic. At the time, Carmen Smith, then-creative development and inclusion strategies executive at Walt Disney Imagineering, explained the changes in a statement to the Los Angeles Times, saying, “As Imagineers, it is our responsibility to ensure experiences we create, and stories we share reflect the voices and perspectives of the world around us. With Jungle Cruise, we’re bringing to life more of what people love – the humor and wit of our incredible skippers — while making needed updates.”

While the removal of Trader Sam was a smart move, it does leave the ride’s climax feeling a bit hollow. We’d like to see Disney tweak it just a bit with a further addition.

Journey of the Little Mermaid
While Journey of the Little Mermaid has several majorly impressive show scenes — including the “Under the Sea” sequence, the interior of Ursula’s cave, and the “Kiss the Girl” scene — the climactic battle with Ursula is not one of them. The Sea Witch is defeated in the background of a scene, essentially the theme park ride equivalent of off-screen. We’re hoping the scene is revamped to something worthy of the ride one day.

Tomorrowland Speedway
Yeah… the biggest improvement here would be to bulldoze it and add a NEW attraction to this massive plot of land, which hugs both Tomorrowland and Fantasyland.

This is another one we could see Disney working on after the completion of Villains Land and Piston Peak.
While the Magic Kingdom’s ride lineup is loaded with fan-favorites, certain attractions could definitely use some improvement. Stay tuned to AllEars for more Disney World takes.
