Why It’s Worth It To Stay In This Disney World Park Until It Closes

When you visit Disney World, we’re sure you have a rope drop strategy, and maybe even a plan for a midday break (which we highly recommend).

You probably understand how to prioritize rides and when to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. You may even have plans to visit a park until it closes for the evening, but it seems like a lot of folks leave Disney’s Animal Kingdom early — here’s how you can benefit from that.​

Animal Kingdom is generally the park that opens the earliest in Disney World (and it’s the park that closes the earliest). Those who rope drop Animal Kingdom don’t often stay all day. If you do that, it could be a mistake. Why? Well, if you look at wait times for Animal Kingdom rides, including the highly popular Flight of Passage, you’ll see some pretty low wait times the last few hours the park is open.

For example, many rides will have waits of 10 minutes or less during these two hours. Flight of Passage is seeing wait times of around 30 minutes or less. This is the best time to jump on a lot of rides in that park without having to worry about purchasing Lightning Lanes.

Keep in mind, though, that Kilimanjaro Safaris typically closes around 5PM every night, so you won’t be able to ride it after that. But all other rides are generally open with low standby waits.
