Is Disney World Crowded or EMPTY Right Now?

The Fourth of July has come and gone, and we saw some pretty interesting wait time trends. However, now that it’s the weekend following a major holiday, we were expecting all the parks to be packed.

While wait times did overall return to normal, we noticed a trend you’d 100% want to keep in mind for next year: visit these two parks on the Fourth of July, NOT the day after.

Let’s take a look at the wait times for Saturday, July 5, 2025, and see if the wait times the day after Independence Day are as bad as those during the holiday.

Magic Kingdom

Rain may have caused a BIG issue with ride closures again, but that’s something to be expected at this time of year. However, what we were surprised to see is that on the day AFTER a big holiday (July 5th), the longest wait time was TRON Lightcycle / Run at 65 minutes. That’s not bad at ALL for such a busy time of year!

Cosmic Rewind hit a 75-minute wait, which, again, isn’t awful for the day after the 4th of July! Frozen Ever After, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Cosmic Rewind, Journey Into Imagination, and Gran Fiesta Tour all experienced unexpected closures during the day, but these were short-lived and didn’t significantly impact the wait times of the other attractions.

Flight of Passage jumped up to an 85-minute wait, which we think was partly due to the rain affecting Kali River Rapids and Expedition Everest. Still, we believe many people decided to spend the 4th of July at Magic Kingdom or EPCOT for the fireworks, leaving Animal Kingdom nearly empty. However, now that the holiday is over, they are headed to DAK!

We have a feeling the same thing happened in Hollywood Studios — this park was nearly empty on the 4th of July, but now, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run jumped to a 110-minute wait! However, the park also struggled with multiple ride closures, which likely contributed to the increased wait times.
