Some rides in Disney World are not worth rope-dropping.
The smaller rides in the parks that often don’t have wait times above 20 minutes are not worth your precious rope-dropping time (rope-dropping is when you get to the park right away when it opens). These are rides like Mad Tea Party at Magic Kingdom, Living with the Land in EPCOT, Tri-Cera Top Spin at Animal Kingdom, and Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. But there is one ride that we Disney World pros LOVE to rope drop, and we have very good reasons to do so.
Slinky Dog Dash in Hollywood Studios is a fun roller coaster that many people enjoy. It’s so popular that the line to this ride can get VERY long, and it can be difficult to snag a Lightning Lane for it.
That’s why your best option may be to rope-drop it! As long as this ride is open, head there first thing in the morning. You’ll likely get on it with a short wait instead of having to wait upwards of an hour or more. You can also save yourself a Lightning Lane this way, too, to use on another ride.
