Pixie dust and happy thoughts are taking a back seat to the Disney World refurbishment schedule soon.

It’s no secret that summer is one of the busiest seasons for Disney World, and Magic Kingdom is usually the park with the most demand. Unfortunately, one of its premier attractions will be inaccessible for well over a month.
Beginning July 8th, Peter Pan’s Flight in Fantasyland will be closed for refurbishment. The ride is scheduled to reopen on August 21st, 2024.

While we don’t know what exact changes or fixes Disney World plans to make on the ride, we do know that earlier this year Disney Imagineering filed a construction permit. This permit listed the property address of Peter Pan’s Flight’s show building and Imagineering permits are usually filed for rides and other show elements that are “guest-facing” — meaning regular visitors can see them.

Still, we don’t know the exact changes you can expect to see when the ride reopens in late-August, but we’ll keep you posted when that information is made known!

The original version of Peter Pan’s Flight opened at Disneyland in 1955 and both versions have gone on to be two of the most popular Disney attractions of all time. The ride takes passengers on a flight in a small pirate ship around London and Never Land as they fly among the stars, battle Captain Hook, meet mermaids, and go on an adventure with Peter Pan, Wendy, and the rest of the Lost Boys.

Peter Pan’s Flight isn’t the only Disney World E-ticket attraction experiencing a long refurbishment. EPCOT’s Test Track officially closed in June for a lengthy reimaging. No re-opening date has been announced.

We’ll continue to keep you posted on all Disney World ride refurbishments, closures, and updates so stay tuned right here at AllEars for all the latest!
